The Catherdral Rests

It's a sad, yet happy day in the baseball world friends. The true Cathedral for all sporting events ( and more ) hosted it's final game last night. Of course I am referring to Yankee Stadium. The home to 26 Yankee Championship Teams. Sure it's a stadium that has housed some of the biggest names in Baseball history, from The Babe to Derek Jeter, all of the Yankee greats played here. But it is much more that that. Three Papal visits, Concerts, Championship Boxing, and "The Greatest Football Game" ever. It's much more than a building, it is truly the worlds most famous venue to hold an event. It's easy to point at some of the biggest games and championship seasons as the best moments but for the Oface it's a few games in the 2001 World Series that showed the healing power of sports and the magic of "The Stadium" With the country still reeling from the tragic ( and cowardly ) events of September 11, the Yankees and D'backs gave the country a few moments to cheer and possibly believe that we can over come.
Everyone has their own "best of " moments but to me, it was those games played in the stadium during that world series. No matter how majestic, how spectacular, no matter what new memories are forged in the new building, there is no replacing The House that Ruth Built.....

Good Night Sweet Yankees - Let The Spending Begin.
What The F*** O Facers,
Since it looks more & more likely that the Yanks won't be making the playoffs this year expect Hank ( the Skank ) Steinbrenner will open up the vaults even more and do some free agent shopping. It's seems like the 80's all over again........
The O Face is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The Mets can't seem to get on a good enough roll to distance themselves from the other ( weaker ) teams in the NL East. This is a joke O Facers.
I don't care who is running the team,
Everyone's favorite Yankees are just lying down like dogs. Where's the fight ? Where's the pride ? Where's the Testicular Fortitude ? I'm sorry to say it friends but these aren't the Yankees of the 90's. Early 90's maybe, but not the late 90's
How do they let The Red Sux "B" team come into Yankee stadium and make them their bitches?
Maybe these pics have something to do with today's Yankees.

I don't care who is running the team,
Willie,
Jerry
Or Baba Looie
The Mets should've run away with the division already. Keep your finger crossed.
Now on to some good things. The O Face would like to add a shout out to two choice peeps:
Smokey Bob & Purse Girl. --- Wazzzupp Y'all
That's it for now.

Yanks~Mets: What The F*** - Love the Pres
Greetings from the Shop.
I gotta say that it seems that my Yankees seem to be content in not making the playoffs this year. They've been taking it in the tailpipe all season. To make it worse, there is no fight in them.
They've had injury issues all season but c'mon now. The pitching ( for the most part ) has done their job but the batting has failed us big time.
Someone tell me why Girardi is resting players at the end of the season. Why, to prepare for the long off-season ? Damon is leading the American league in hitting and Girardi sits him for a rookie. After saying that all games are important. Helloooo, Play the best team you have and hope for the best. Last night might've just closed the door on any playoff hopes.
And how about them Mets....... Wow, choke away my friends. That talent laden Pittsburgh offense was just too much to keep down. Are you kidding me ?
Somewhere in NJ Willie Randolph is laughing his ass off.
Gotta love the pres for showing his olympic spirit.........................

USA Rulz.
That's it for now.
Remember, My thang don't stank.

Don't Be Hatin' The Empire.
So the Yankees went out and made a deal with Pittsburgh. No big deal right ? Wrong.
It seems the entire Baseball world is getting their panties in a bunch over the trade.
C'mon now, I didn't hear anyone crying when Boston raped Florida to get Beckett AND Lowell.
I know Florida got Hanley Ramirez but give me a break. They just threw in Lowell. What a throw in he was. World Series MVP anyone.....................
Someone "splain" to me why Manny Ramirez is upset with Boston. They only put up with all of his crap, listen to his nonsense. Let him sit when he says that his boo boo knee isn't feeling so good. Let's not forget about his stellar defensive play. Or the fact that he hasn't run out a grounder out since the Millenium. Yeah he has produced some sick numbers but why complain? I guess the 20 million a year isn't enough. So what if they don't pick up his option. Someone will pay him.
Back to the Yankees, What's the deal with win a few then lose a few ? There's no excuse for it at this time of the year. Great outing by Marte vs. Baltimore, wasn't it. Lefty specialist huh. I can hit him. Only kidding. Come to think of it, no I wasn't.
What are the Jets waiting for ? If Favre agrees to play two years, make the deal. With all of the money the Jets put out in the off season they need to win now. I don't think the Chad or Kellen Clemens is going to be leading the Super Bowl Shuffle anytime soon. So what if they have to give up a 1st rounder. Whoopie - Frickin - Do. Make the deal. Maybe Richard Todd is available.
That's it for now.
Join me next time at the shop.
Put a little lipstick on the dipstick my friends.

Johan Goes Nine - Yanks Fall to Sox
Greetings from the shop.
How about them Mets, ( 1st place Mets I should note ) Met fans rejoice or panic ? Johan looked good but what did it say about the pen that he stayed in for the ninth after last weeks mess.
Too bad Santana can't pitch the ninth everyday.
After taking the first two, the Yankees fell to Boston last night. That's ok Yankee fans. Two out of three isn't bad at all. We were bound to have a bad game. Gotta give credit to the Yankee pitching as of late. Jobba sticking it to Boston was sweet. Tell Youkilis to pull that jaw out of the way next time. Big ole baby. So the Sox went & hit A-Rod. Don't they know he needs that arm to juggle the babes.
Ever notice that Big Papi ( David Ortiz ) looks like the mother from Good Times? ( Esther Rolle )

Go see "Step Brothers" for some good old fashion family fun.
That's it for now, see ya next time at the Taco Shop.
Keep it wet.
